From 2012 to 2018, Dr. Cozmuta’s research on space-based manufacturing propelled the growth of the space economy, leading to breakthroughs like ZBLAN fiber optics, organ and tissue engineering, and space super computers. Prior to this, she played a key role in hypersonic re-entry projects, collaborating with NASA, the Air Force, Sandia National Laboratories, and companies like SpaceX between 2006 and 2012, modernizing NASA’s spacecraft re-entry systems.
